Our Tree Division
offers a broad range of services to make your
property safer, more beautiful, or to prepare your
property for building or other development. We use
the latest equipment and ensure its constant
maintenance so that our work for you is accomplished
quickly, safely, and expertly.
Tree Removal
- Our expert climbers handle the
removal of any size and quantity of trees by
climbing with rope and saddle, or using a bucket
truck when necessary. We remove all wood and debris
either by chipping on site or hauling away.
Although tree removal is a last resort, there
are circumstances when it is necessary to take down
a tree completely. Arbor Lawn has the knowledge and
equipment to safely and efficiently remove trees.
Removal
is recommended when:
 |
The tree is dead or
dying. |
 |
The tree is
considered irreparably hazardous. |
 |
The tree is causing
an obstruction that is impossible to correct
through pruning |
 |
The tree is
crowding and causing harm to other trees |
 |
The tree is to be
replaced by a more suitable specimen |
 |
The tree should be
removed to allow for new construction |
Pruning/Dead Wooding
-
Trimming
and removal of tree limbs may be necessary due to
disease, broken branches, or dying of the branch.
Other reasons are limbs that are hanging over
rooftops or driveways, impeding on power or phone
lines, or for the aesthetics of your property. Tree
trimming is often a preventative solution to more
costly problems in the future.
View Pruning -
The Triangle Area is abundant with large oak trees
and dense tree growth which can obstruct
desired views. Whether trimming for a special view
or general curb appeal, your property value can be
increased while maintaining the beauty of the tree.
Our
professionals can determine what type of pruning is
necessary to maintain or improve the health,
appearance and safety of your trees. These
techniques include:
 |
Eliminating
branches that rub each other |
 |
Removing limbs that
interfere with wires, building facades, gutters,
roofs, windows, or that obstruct streets or
sidewalks |
 |
Removing dead or
weak limbs that pose a hazard or may lead to
decay |
 |
Removing diseased
or insect-infested limbs |
 |
Creating better
structure to lessen wind resistance and reduce
the potential for damage |
 |
Training young
trees |
 |
Removing limbs
damaged by adverse weather conditions. |
 |
Thinning or removal
of unnecessary branches |
 |
Improving the shape
or silhouette of the tree. |
Lot
Clearing -
Arbor Lawn can provide for your lot clearing needs.
We have the equipment needed to quickly
and efficiently clear large and small lots of
unwanted trees and wooded areas.
Stump Grinding
-
Our
self-propelled grinders can go anywhere to handle
the largest to the smallest stumps. Stump grinding
will reduce the height of a stump below ground
level. Grinding gets rid of unsightly stumps and
also the possibility of termite or other insect
infestation. Shavings from the stump grindings will
remain on site unless it is specified otherwise in
the quote (for which there is an additional charge).
Most of our customers use these shavings to help
fill in the hole, or as mulch around other plants.
Upon having a stump ground you have several options:
 |
Installation of a
new tree or shrub in this area |
 |
Installation of
topsoil and seed/sod to enhance your turf
|
Emergency Service
- Arbor Lawn provides 24-hour
Emergency Service.
Prepare in advance and have your property evaluated
for trees which may be a danger to your home and property.
Storms may cause limbs or entire trees to fall,
often on homes, cars, other structures, or other
trees. The weight of storm-damaged trees is great
and they can be very dangerous to remove or trim.
Arbor Lawn can perform the job in a safe manner,
while reducing further risk of damage to property. Weather
patterns can cause many problems for homeowners and
businesses throughout the year. Arbor Lawn has the
equipment and experienced crews to quickly and
safely handle your storm damage tree needs. We can
respond quickly following any natural disaster
mobilizing manpower and equipment to the devastated
area. With trucks, skid loaders, and chainsaws our
crews can quickly clear away downed trees and
hazardous limbs, load, and haul away debris. In most
emergency instances tree debris is left at curbside
and is later picked up and removed by the City/Town.

Retaining Walls
A retaining wall is
a kind of wall with interlacing blocks that holds
back, or "retains" a higher level of ground. The
blocks can be of many materials including brick,
stone or wood, and may or may not require mortar to
seal. A retaining wall, also known as a terraced
wall, an anchor wall, or a landscape wall, is an
attractive feature to your property, whether on a
lawn or in a garden, creating a distinct border
between the higher and lower surface.
The result is a groomed, professional look that
flatters many properties. A retaining wall s
practical as well as attractive. Usually, they are
not very tall. The retaining wall is difficult to
build if it is more than a man's height. Often they
are only a few feet tall, because of the strength
required to hold back the upper level of earth.
Reasons for a retaining wall can be quite practical
or purely for the aesthetic appeal, and the
retaining wall serves well in either case. The wall
may help keep your driveway clear of debris or
encroaching grass. It may border as a pathway
through a garden, or help level a sloping backyard.
It may tastefully hide an air conditioning
compressor. Whatever your reasons, the retaining
wall is a versatile option that is applicable to
many property styles.
